Rose Seccareccia is a multidisciplinary artist and native Harlemite who works across painting, printmaking and textiles. Using traditionally feminine forms of expression such as embroidery and quilt making, Rose stitches mythological, historical and biblical stories of archetypal women together with her own to explore collective female narratives around grief, loss, motherhood, girlhood and Becoming. Also a clinical social worker, Rose's work is informed by the psychoanalytic theories of Carl Jung and Melanie Klein amongst others, and incorporates personal dreams and symbols which manifest both as fairy tales and as objects in conversation with an as yet unknown sacred world.
